By registering and participating in the BKF Charity Run/Walk/Cycle event, I acknowledge, understand, and agree to abide by the following terms and conditions:
1. Participation & Fitness
I confirm that I am physically fit, medically able, and sufficiently trained to participate in this event. I understand that participation in running and outdoor fitness activities involves physical exertion and inherent risks.
I agree to disclose any relevant medical condition, allergy, injury, or health concern that may affect my participation before the event date.
I further acknowledge that I participate voluntarily and entirely at my own risk.
2. Assumption Of Risk
I understand and acknowledge that participation in the event may involve risks including but not limited to:
I fully accept and assume all risks associated with participating in the event.
3. Release Of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I release and discharge The Ben Kijuu Foundation event organizers, sponsors, partners, volunteers, venue management, staff, and affiliates from any liability, claims, demands, damages, injuries, losses, costs, or expenses arising from or connected to my participation in the event.
This includes loss of personal belongings, property damage, personal injury, illness, permanent disability, or death arising before, during, or after the event.
4. Safety & Event Rules
I agree to comply with all event instructions, safety guidelines, venue regulations, and directions issued by event officials, marshals, security personnel, and medical teams.
I understand that BKF reserves the right to remove or disqualify any participant whose behavior may endanger themselves, other participants, staff, spectators, or the environment.
I also undertake to act responsibly and respectfully throughout the event.
5. Environmental Responsibility
I commit to helping maintain a clean and safe environment during the event and will properly dispose of waste and avoid damaging public or private property.
6. Minors
Participants below the age of 18 years must be registered and accompanied by an authorized parent, guardian or responsible adult who shall assume full responsibility for the minor throughout the event.
BKF shall not be held liable for minors who are left unattended.
7. Medical Emergencies
I authorize the event medical team and emergency personnel to administer first aid or arrange medical treatment in the event of injury, illness, or emergency during the event.
I understand that any medical expenses incurred shall be my responsibility unless otherwise covered by insurance.
8. Event Modification or Cancellation
BKF reserves the right to postpone, cancel, modify, or alter the event route, schedule, venue, or activities due to weather conditions, safety concerns, government directives, emergencies, or circumstances beyond its control.
In such cases, registration fees and sponsorship contributions may be non-refundable unless otherwise communicated by the organizers.
9. Media Consent
I consent to being photographed, filmed, recorded, or interviewed during the event. I grant BKF the unrestricted right to use such photographs, videos, recordings, or likeness for publicity, awareness campaigns, marketing, social media, publications, promotional materials, and future event promotion without compensation or further approval.
10. Registration & Transfer Policy
Event registrations are non-transferable and may not be resold or exchanged without approval from the organizers.
Participants must use their officially assigned race bibs and identification materials during the event.
11. Code of Conduct
Participants are expected to demonstrate respectful behavior towards fellow participants, staff, volunteers, sponsors, and members of the public.
Harassment, violence, discrimination, intoxication, abusive conduct, or any unlawful behavior will result in immediate removal from the event without refund.
12. Acknowledgement
By registering for and participating in the BKF Charity Run/Walk/Cycle, I confirm that I have carefully read, understood, and voluntarily agreed to these Terms & Conditions in full.
